EMILY POT
CINEMATOGRAPHER & DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKER
Emily Pot is a cinematographer and documentary filmmaker based in Toronto, Ontario. She graduated from Humber College's Bachelor of Film and Media Production program this past spring and left the program with five films under her belt crediting her as Director of Photography. While in school, Emily also received the opportunity to shoot an interview with Wendy Crewson for Canada's Walk of Fame & NBCUniversal's Future Storytellers Project. The segment was screened during Cineplex's Pre-Show Entertainment and is featured on CWOF's website and social media.
She most recently shot a short film--her first outside of college--funded by Canada Council for the Arts taking inspiration from film-noir and 1930s horror lighting techniques. Emily is also currently directing a documentary on disability poverty in Ontario. While her love of filmmaking started early on at age 9, inspiring a YouTube channel for her American Girl Doll stop-motion videos, Emily’s love for all things camera and passion for social justice issues is what drives her in her work today.
